Gratitude

Here is the fun bit!  What do you want?  Buy yourself a nice writing book, one that has spiral bound pages or just an exercise book. On the cover, or inside the book, cut out pictures of the things that you desire.

Create the house you want, the clothes, the car.  Once you have the pictures on the front of the book, start writing your vision statement.  You may want to create it on the computer first, edit it, print it and then paste it into your book.  This way, as you change things, you can reprint it.  Your desires will always change; this is your natural state of being. If you choose, your vision statement can be with you for the rest of your life, so “make friends” with it! Make it work for you!

Also, make sure your vision statement is detailed. If you are trying to attract the right partner, describe that person in perfect detail. How does your partner treat you?  What do he or she look like? Brown hair, short hair, long hair? What sports do they play? Do you both have alone time? Do you both like skiing? Get every single detail down.

Be exact in everything you are trying to create, as if you are the architect of your own dream home. This is one of the most powerful tools within the Law of Attraction, so take your time, and get it right.

The Law of Attraction works like this: When you desire something, this sends a message out into the Universe that translates to "You are asking me for something.”  Asking is the easiest part of the Law of Attraction; every time you desire something; the trick is, you have to believe that you deserve what you ask for – when you believe, you’ll achieve that sense of “balance” that is integral to actually attaining what you wait.  For instance, you may desire a trip overseas, but if you are feeling and thinking, “I can't afford it," guess what? You won't get it!

When I got this particular part of the Law of Attraction, everything changed.  I encourage you to read the works of author Abraham Hicks, to whom I am indebted for changing my life through their teachings.

When Gary committed suicide in 1998, I was inconsolable and devastated beyond words, as I expressed earlier in this book. I also wrote about his spirit visiting me after his death, and in particular, the time in which he appeared wearing a jumper with white and  black diamonds.  The top of each diamond was white and the bottom half was black.  It was not something I would imagine him wearing.  And, as I said earlier in the book, Gary then sat next to me and put his arm around me. He told me that everything I believed about life continuing after physical death was true.

At the time, as you will recall, I pondered in particular about the jumper he was wearing.  I don't know why I always thought about it.  Then, in 2006, when I watched the “The Secret” was released, I understood the message. As I watched the movie, the Abraham-Hicks emotional guidance diagram came up on the screen.  It was a diamond with white top and black half on the bottom!

In the movie, the white part of the diamond had all the “positive” emotions written on it, and engraved on the black half were all the “negative” emotions.  I burst into tears. I knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that my brother had told me seven years earlier to watch out for this. It was then, and only then, when I started using the Abraham-Hicks emotional guidance system, and the Law of Attraction really started to work for me.

We all harbor a long list of emotions, ranging from happiness, joy, optimism, hope, faith, love, and contentment, to anger, despair, frustration, envy, hatred, worry, and stress.  You owe it to yourself to always live in the “white part of the diamond.”  If you feel yourself “going toward the darkness,” or the black part of the diamond, as it was shown in the movie, just try to change what you are thinking about so that you can gradually start to feel better.  You can alter your thoughts by simply rewording them, like this:
Change "I don't know how am I going to pay all these debts!"
to
"I am hopeful that these debts will be paid. I believe I will be able to do so."
Change "I’m never going to get through this! I might as well give up!”
to
“I have been through this before, and I have always managed. Things will work out.
Change "Now that I have all this credit, I’m scared I’m just going to go blow it!”
to
“I am so grateful that I have been trusted with this credit. I will use it wisely and carefully."

Here are some more examples regarding why you often desire, or ask, for something, and don’t receive it. You inner dialogue might go something like this:
"I love my Peugeot 207cc with cream leather interior, black metallic paint, alloy wheels and a sunroof."
This is good, because you have described exactly what you want and you repeat this affirmation all day. However, whilst you are doing this, you are still focusing on your old car and its faults. When you see your old car in your mind, you only think about how you don't want it.  You are vibrating differently from the feeling of gratitude for what you already have, and your attention is on the old car.  The Law of Attraction picks up your primary vibrational thought, which is the old car, and that's ultimately what you’ll get:  You get to keep your old car!
Now, if you were to change your thoughts to feel appreciation for your old car every time you see it in your mind or even while you’re driving it, then you will move into a higher vibration. If you can look at it from this viewpoint, feeling grateful that you have this car, while focusing on the car that you want, the Law of Attraction will then automatically “pick up” on your images of the new car, and it will manifest.
Repeat this, and get used to saying it, if, for example, you are still looking for the right partner in a love relationship: "I desire to find my perfect partner," and then continue, describing exactly what you want in your perfect partner; what traits and characteristics he or she possesses, etc.

If you keep doing this, yet find that after some time, they do not appear, think of what you might be subconsciously telling yourself: Could it be that you are thinking about how hurt you have been in previous relationships?  Is your attention on what you don't want to happen again?  Consider how you feel when you are asking for this: Are you feeling joyful and happy, or hesitant and unworthy?  The trick to this -- and this is the most important thing you will ever learn with the Law of Attraction -- is to always be in a positive vibration.  I realise this is not easy, but with practice and tenacity, you can do it.  It is simply a matter of thinking hopeful, exciting, joyful, confident, loving, and trusting thoughts.
Whenever you feel a negative vibration, you owe it to yourself to change it immediately.  This is the most important thing you will ever learn - you can not attract the things you want in your life whilst you are in a negative vibration.

The act of giving also puts you into a higher vibration.  As you have already learnt, to even be able to receive, you must be in a high vibrational frequency, experiencing emotions of happiness, joy, love, contentment, and optimism.

For those who teach the Law of Attraction, they know that one of the most crucial parts of being able to receive is to feel comfortable about the act of giving. If you believe you can't afford to give, you are not in the right vibration to receive, By openly and willfully giving, you are helping your vibration climb into a “higher good!”

Live your life fully: Wake each morning in deep gratitude for what you already have. Every day is a blessing. For example, most of us have our eyesight -– be grateful for that. Be grateful for even the smallest things.

Some of my happiest moments have been when I have gone down to the beach and watched the sun rise on the horizon. It is in those moments that I am truly grateful for the wonderful life and experiences I have experienced. I feel truly grateful for the people I meet, the joy I experience, the air I breathe, the meals I eat, my ability to run, the laughter of a baby, when I see my daughters, or when a stranger smiles at me. The list is endless.

I purchased a beautiful green crystal one day. I placed on my sink in the bathroom. Every time I wash my hands I can’t help but see its exquisite beauty, and it reminds me to say, “Thank you.”
